Storm Brewing

This was taken one February morning near Redcar on the north-east coast of England. The sun was breaking through clouds, and the steelworks in the background suddenly produced a large cloud of steam. I liked the backlighting on the steam and the reflection of the light in te sea. This was another picture where the colour image simply did not work, but turning it into a mono image enabled me to bring out the compositional structure.
